Active Transportation is about using human-modes of transportation (i.e. cycling, walking, in-line skating, transit, etc.) to get to your destination. Transit is considered an active transportation mode as you must walk to and from transit to get to your destination. Active transportation promotes positive mental and physical health and helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to poor air quality.

Active Transportation & Sarnia Transit
Transit users are also walkers, as they must walk to and from transit to get to their destination. Research shows that transit users are almost four times as likely to meet the Canadian physical activity guidelines than those who drive.
Sarnia Transit has made it easier to get to your destination by adding bike racks to all of their buses. To learn how to use the bike racks, check out the Hooked on Transit video
